IC.02.02.01 / EC.02.05.01 expect a written high-touch program that names a frequency-by-surface-class classification (high, mid, low) and ties that classification to the cadence a given room or zone is serviced, not a uniform janitorial checklist. Surveyors look for an explicit high-touch contact-point list — door handles, bed rails, restroom fixtures, waiting-room arms, elevator buttons, the surfaces a hand or a glove actually touches — and for that list to be rotated per visit so the evidence binder shows which high-touch surfaces got attention, when. The environmental-rounds cadence has to be documented with a corrective-action trail: rounds findings, the corrective action, the close-out date, and a tie back to the IC committee or environment-of-care committee that regularly reviews that data. Waste-stream segregation must be written into scope at the level of OSHA bloodborne-pathogen handling, RCRA hazardous-waste handling, state pharmacy-board rules for trace chemo, and any local regulated-medical-waste requirements — with the segregation verdict keyed to the container, the label, and the pickup cadence, not pulled from crew memory.
